Its the first time I have seen this bird type. At first I thought it was my friendly Kestrel but the white flashes seen from the ground warned me its time to take a shot. It was a grab shot and only had time for the one. fl was 700mm with the Bigma and EC14. So you are right, it was a piece of luck.

| | | Re: Osprey? Well spotted! My exceptionally limited knowledge meant I had no idea Ospreys could be found in your part of the world. They're magnificent birds aren't they. We were watching them fishing in Florida back in July, and one was even harrassing a gator who was minding his own business
