| | | Is this a Buzzard? Just sitting casually on a fence post. Pretty sure it's a Buzzard but looks lighter in colour than the one shown in my bird book.

| | | Re: Is this a Buzzard? I have had Buzzards almost white before now, and even had one over the M40 near Warwick that at first I thought was a Osprey until I took a closer look at it.
As Aeshna5 has said. They are very variable and their range goes from both ends of the light / dark spectrum.

| | | Re: Is this a Buzzard? Thanks folks - a first perching Buzzard pic for me - usually just see them way up in the sky! Good feedback about the colour variance - learning all the time.

| | | Re: Is this a Buzzard? Nice one ..at Titchfield Haven Saturday last, saw a buzzard strike on a pigeon right outside
the hide... the pigeon escaped minus a few feathers, no doubt with a thumping heart ! |

| | | Re: Is this a Buzzard? I normally drive into Cardigan in West Wales daily, and every other tree and lamp post seems to have a Buzzard perched on it, and I have to say that I have never seen one that light in colour nor seeming to be that slim.
I wonder if the western ones are somewhat different to elsewhere in the UK.
