| | | Birding in France Hi,
I am going on a day trip to France (I know its not Britain, but its a lot nearer Kent than a lot of Britain!) tomorrow and wonder whether anyone has any good advice as to where is best to go for birding at this time of year over there?
We are sailing into Calais early morning so hopefully will get some good sea birds on the way over.
Thanks in advance

| | | Re: Birding in France If you head west past Boulogne (sp) on the main road (about 1/2 hr from Calais) you will reach a large area of woodlands that hold some good species such as Crested Tit, Short-toed Treecreeper, and Black Woodpecker. Check out the coast and estuaries along this stretch too.
The wetlands immediately near Calais hold some good stuff and the old hoverport there holds Crested Lark.
Cheers,
