| | A few birds for ID Hello!
Spent a long weekend in perhaps the only sunny spot in the UK, the Lizard in Cornwall. Got to spend a good amount of time out taking photos. Fell flat when it came to the birds, but came away with a few that I'd like to verify ID on, and 1 that I haven't any idea about.
Thanks in advance! Buzzard I'm sure, but never seen one this pale before? Wader, but which one? Ignore the seagull, it's for size comparison Pied or White wagtail? Wheatear yes, but male or female? |

| | | Re: A few birds for ID Well done for finding some sunshine - no mean feat at the minute!
I would say the first shot is definitely a pale buzzerd, and the wader looks to me like a knot.
The other two, I'm not sure about I'm afraid. |

4. Female Wheatear, Oenanthe oenanthe | 1 Agree juv Buzzard, but don't believe it's possible to sex it from this.
2 Agree Knot, but gull is 2nd year-type Herring Gull- note grey not black mantle!
3 Adult female Pied Wagtail
4 Agree |

| | | Re: A few birds for ID Evening Aeshna,
1. OK, I was going by the brown-ish plumage - I thought it could be indicative of Female...
3. OK, polar opposite
Thanks |
