| | | Osprey Had my first great views of an Osprey over the weekend
Was fishing a lake in Lincolnshire at the time. It first appeared on Saturday around dinner time, and left after 10mins with a fish. It then came back this morning when I had some great views of it, having a couple of failed swoops, then a successful one catching a fish and flying off with it. My only regret is not having my bins with me, I usually always take them but this time forgot typical.
Also saw a few Buzzard and Sparrowhawk, plus a Hobby when I was driving home through the Wolds |

| | | Re: Osprey Sounds fantastic, especially to see them diving for fish. I would love to see one some day. Of course the other BOP are great too.

| | | Re: Osprey How exciting for you to have such great views of the Osprey! Fancy not having your bins and a camera though! An Osprey flew into, around and straight off the reserve that I regularly visit yesterday lunchtime! I was there today so missed it! |

| | | Re: Osprey Nice one to see Lincs. They are known to call in at Messingham nature reserve as there are good stocks of fish in the lakes. Despite me being there usually at least twice a week I generally manage to miss out.

| | | Re: Osprey There have also been recent (back end of August) and reliable reports of an Osprey around the Grainthorpe Haven area ..
Apparently it favours perching on a dead tree out on the saltmarsh ...
Bye for now ..

| | | Re: Osprey Certainly worth checking the skies anywhere at the moment- 2 Ospreys were seen over London yesterday. Top spot was Beddington which also had a Wryneck that was ringed. |
