| | | Re: garden visitors I'm pretty sure a Sparrowhawk wouldn't attack a human deliberately, but I do wonder if there haven't been any accidental collisions with people? They do fly irresponsibly low and fast.....
Once I was nearly hit by a Goshawk which was chasing another bird! BIG talons aimed at my head - I ducked just in time! |

I almost had my head taken off by a low flying Nightjar last summer ... a pal & I were out in rural Lincs in a place they're known to frequent, it had just got dark & we were walking along a lane looking for them ... suddenly, a Nightjar came from nowhere at just above head-height (in my case 6 feet) ... I felt the downdraught from its wings ...
I'm sure accidental collisions do occur .. in the same way that birds sometimes fly into Patio doors & French windows ..
