I know that one spoonbill is hanging out locally down at near Newport here in Wales, but haven't had the chance to go see it for myself. I do hope they become a more common occurance, a great bird to see! |

There were some unsuccessful attempts in recent years, but with increasing numbers now breeding in the Netherlands + more birds over here, hopefully they'll return to breed here.
This story in Scotland sounds like good news. |

What happens? .... breeding up north in Scotland  .
Exciting news following on from the first breeding of Cattle Egrets in the UK down in Somerset.

This story in Scotland sounds like good news. | Yes, there was successful pair in Lancashire. There have also been rumours of a pair breeding in Norfolk this year too.
