About twenty years ago when I was running around in shorts, we used to spend the summers in Cornwall and on the drive down there we didn't need to ask 'are we nearly there yet'...we'd just wait to hear the sound of the gulls.
Fast-foward a couple of decades and now you've only got to go into the big towns or cities to see hundreds of them.
Under the cloud of Manchester it's hard to believe that our climate is getting warmer, but it looks like the weather is now good enough for even more gulls to travel up from the med and make a new home in Britain.
