Bird identification needed :)

Hi everyone,

I need some help trying to identify a bird I saw in my back garden - unfortunately it flew away before I had a chance to get the camera and take a pic of it.

I was slightly smaller than a pigeon and had vivid yellowy-green feathers on it's wings and back (couldn't see the front as it was facing away from me), it also had a red splodge on the top of it's head.

Any ideas? I'd love to know what it was because I've not seen one like it before in the garden

Thanks!
Sarah
