| | | Wood Pigeons given up nest building ? On Sunday I watched 2 wood pigeons building a nest on the tree that hangs over our garden.
The female sat on the branch while the male brought twigs. This continued into Monday then the wind got up and the branch they had chosen was being blown about a lot.
Would they just give up after all that work and move on somewhere safer ?
They have gone now and I hope they found a better spot to build their nest but can they actually sense when there is a danger ?
The particular branch being close to houses wouldn't have been a very quiet place either. Although quite rural, a lot of noise from children etc.
I also noticed a lot of magpies nearby. Can that have been the reason ? | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
