We were just south of Redditch. I haven`t seen these before, not knowingly anyway! They were very pretty, & quite obliging to photograph!!  Are they common?

Thanks again, Pam | They are a summer visitor and can be common in upland and coastal areas, where they breed. They are certainly fairly plentiful in the uplands of the north where I spend a lot of my time. These you saw will be passage migrants, heading south for the winter. My local breeders have mostly gone now.
