| | | Half a bald head greenfinch. Hello Today 3 or 4 times now ive seen a male greenfinch with half a bald head he seems to be eating and drinking ok, hes got the wife with him but thank goodness shes ok. It was earlier this week there was a thread on here and photo of a male blackbird completely bald head, just dont seem to know whats causing it, maybe moulting , like I say hes eating and drinking fine, any ideas anyone?  shei

or it could be just the stress of trying to feed all the kids this summer in the pouring rain |

I spotted this male GSW a few months back with a balding head; he was helping to feed the offspring so I hope it wasn't a type of parasite that could be passed on. I had seen him courting with the female about a month prior to the photos and I don't recall his crown looking like that. I had just put it down to the rigours of children. |
