Baby Jay all alone

We have a baby jay visiting at the moment who seems unable to fly.
I have thought about trying to catch him but do not want to frighten him off as he is feeding well and may build up more strength.
I am seeing off the magpies which are waiting to bully him.
Here is a picture of him with one of his new friends.

Re: Baby Jay all alone

Well done for looking after him

His wing looks a bit 'awkward' - the one with his friend

Is he getting enough to eat? I'd imagine he's dependant on the food in the garden if he can't fly off in search.

Hopefully he'll strengthen up and whizz off into the distance. Until then enjoy him, he's gorgeous

Re: Baby Jay all alone

He is still visiting us, but still seems unable to fly.
I wish it was not raining all the time on him, he looks quite sad.
Last visit last evening.
I will keep you posted.

Poor little thing!

Keep feeding him and looking out for him and i reckon he'll be fine.

And Mr. Squirrel will look out for him

Re: Baby Jay all alone

It looks quite healthy to me and is obviously feeding OK. If you are feeding it i'm sure it will be OK and take care of itself

Re: Baby Jay all alone

He does appear to look healthy doesn't he?
Fingers crossed that he manages to find some shelter from this dreadful rain.
Do keep us up to date hobble.
