| | Baby Collared Dove? Hi,
I took this picture today
I'm sure it's a young collared dove but I just wanted to check. It's been sat there for ages now getting a bit worried! It's a lot smaller than the pair that I'm sure are it's parents. It's parents appear regularly in our garden and I have heard russleing and flapping from a tree in our garden and there are some feathers around it so I'm hoping this is the very baby I've heard!
I'd just like to mention that I saw a baby black bird the other day in our garden as well I have a picture of that too but it isn't very good I didn't want to be near it for long or put the flash on but here is a picture of its daddy!
My photos arent that impressive but their subjects are all characters! Thanks. |

| | | Re: Baby Collared Dove? The one I have of the baby black bird was tweaked a bit but it still didn't show it properly! The collared dove has moved now and an adult one was walking about on the same bit of fence so now I'm wondering if it was actually just an adult one but it was just far too small to an an adult! thanks for the welcome
edit: just saw it again, definatly a young one, it doesnt have a collar yet I'm assuming that comes later? I'm so happy, it's amazing that they've (the doves and the blackbirds) managed to bring up young in our garden!
