| | | Egg found in garden. I've just looked out into the back garden and there's a small egg, cracked in half behind the back door. It's white in colour and quite tiny like I say. The contents have gone. I know it's not a Blackbirds egg. I wondered if anyone can shed some light on what it is. Thanks.

| | | Re: Egg found in garden. I found a white egg in some long grass by my pond it was white and about half the size on a hens egg.
Havant a clue who's it was or where it came from.
It was in half no yoke just the shell.

| | | Re: Egg found in garden. Starlings often just "lay when they feel like it", wherever, whenever - often on lawns, and not on the nest!
I'm not saying that was YOUR egg (too late in the year I'd say), but if you do find a WHOLE small egg in the lawn - chances are ('round 'ere anyway), its one of those Starlings just "laying around".

| | | Re: Egg found in garden. Thanks for replies everyone. Sorry not replied sooner, been a busy few days. I'll go with Collared Dove then, there's quite a few around here.
