Great photos, I was looking out of my window last week and i had one dive into the tree, he then came out with a sparrow and sat on my lawn. I could not believe my eyes, it was the first time I have seen one. Managed to get a few photos, but it was through the window and my hands were shaking a bit

I was only bemoaning to my wife last night that I was seeing very few birds in the back garden over the last week. This morning however - early at 7.30 am - my wife shouted to me that there was a 'big bird' on the fence. I raced to get my camera first - just in case - and was absolutely gobsmacked to see this Sparrowhawk (female I think) just sitting there!! Pics spoiled slightly by roses in the way - taken through the window - but still very pleasing.

What brilliant photos you managed to get.
I used to have an ageing hen sparrowhawk come sit on the fence by my hen house,she used to keep the mice down.Sadly I think she must have succumbed to old age as I haven't seen her this year.The only picture I managed to get was a blurry nothing
