| We had heard a lot about it but until you actually visit you dont realise how brilliant it is. It is a shame I dont live nearer - but we have already booked a holiday to go back again next year

Unfortunately I have never got close to the excellent photos taken by Stan .... well done!

Up until a few weeks ago I had never attempted birds in flight apart from the odd gull over the local lakes. Knowing we were going to Gigrin, we joined the Hawk Conservancy Trust in Andover and have been there a number of times to practice during their flying displays and hopefully it has paid off. Mind you at Gigrin we shot over 1500 images between us and quite a number ended up in the bin.
I think though, Gigrin is such a fantastic spectacle, even without the shots it is well worth going just to watch and as I said earlier we are going back next year
