| | | Moorhen and chicks Not the most glamorous of birds but quite colourful in a subdued manner on close examintation - saw this little family group on the river bank at St Ives and found them appealing - particularly the two half hidden chicks who had so far managed to survive.
A bit of personal quality time

As this is my first 'season' in bird photography I have really enjoyed the last couple of months in particular seeing a variety of baby and juvenile birds. A similar scenario to your Moorhen family this is a shot of a Coot family taken a couple of days ago.

| | | Re: Moorhen and chicks we have seen some in the drain but they zoom to the side to hide in the over-hanging weeds before I can get my camera focused, they've been cleaning the drain out this week and most of the weed has gone so I hope they're ok as not seen them for a couple of days
