| | | Loads of garden birds Hello Ive noticed this lately we seem to have loads more garden birds, green finches, goldfinches, and their young, blackbirds, starlings the list goes on . I remember This time last year when the green finch had
that disease which was killing them so fast , but this year we seem to have so many here , but the last couple of months the chaffinches seem to have declined a lot, at one point we had as many chaffinches as we do sparrows I dont know were theyve all gone. I suppose after the breeding season they do go off to moult and to eat various seeds and fruits that grow wild which are quite plentiful this time of the year and come back to our gardens later. Im still getting through lots of birds food espeically sun flower seeds for the greenfinches and nyger seed for the goldfinches, while they keep coming to the feeders I will carry on feeding them . shei.

We've had a number of blue tits but the coal tits were conspicuous by their absence this year. We've only had a few greenfinches as well.
Lots of sparrows and starlings. |

| | | Re: Loads of garden birds I can't say I can compare from last year to this year, as we moved into this area in October of last year, but so far we've had a massive variety and number of birds. Some of which include all the usual tits including our willow tits, also greenfinches, siskin, goldfinch, a pair of nuthatches and the occasional GSW. We're literally overrun with fledglings. I haven't really noticed any conspicuous absences except for perhaps a lack of house sparrows. I've only seen a few females lately, only one or two males over the summer so far. |

| | | Re: Loads of garden birds I've definitly have a 100% increase in Goldfinches this year - now 4! I have less Blue Tits this year than last year - probably not liking my garden as I do hear them about. Probably a similar amount of Starlings and Sparrows. Some of the fledgling sparrows liking one of my shrubs they stayed for hours at a time.
I have had some new birds to the garden and have become regulars - mainy Coal Tits.
You couldn't send a few greenfinches my way though could you? |

| | | Re: Loads of garden birds we had loads and loads of assorted garden birds up until about three weeks ago then we had our daughters yappy little dog for a fotrnight while they were on holiday and they seemed to almost disappear but are slowly returning this week now things are back to normal, we also had Sparrow Hawks nesting up the garden and we had number of kills but they have now gone which could also be a reason
