Female Redstart

Female Redstart landing at the nesthole in the side of a stone barn.

Only had an hour or so as they fledged and this is probabaly the best shot I got.

It was flashed to freeze the bird.

I used a 105mm Macro lens and 3 flashguns.

I also used a 10 metre cable and sat in my van trying to catch it as it came to the nesthole.

I do quite a bit of this sort of thing but found the Redstart very difficult indeed as they enter the nesthole without slowing down....well, it seemed so anyway.

Re: Female Redstart

I'd love to have a go at something like this, I can't justify the 3 flashes though. I lost the discussion on getting one for this weekend . Maybe one day I'll be lucky to try.
