| | | My first photo's of a wild Barn Owl Hey Everyone,
Haven't been on here in a while. Been very busy sorting stuff out and finding new places to photograph my list of wildlife.
I have always had a great passion for Owl's but never managed to photograph them in the wild.
But things were about to change.
While i was in Cornwall i went to the CBWPS Walmsley Reserve and was lucky enough to meet the head warden who very kindly told me about the pair of Barn Owls that lived in the area. We went up to the top field for a good view and within 15 minutes a ghostly shape flew behind the bushes and then flew around at the bottom of the feild
I couldn't believe it and with a little patience and re-positioning i manage to get some OK shots of the Barn Owl! I was so happy and it was a moment i will never forget.
Here are a couple of shots i got from that evening
Hope you like them guys.
Cheers,
Steve |

Stan | It's such a great experience. I was lucky enough to see them both for the next 3 nights. I want to get back down there soon and get some more shots Quote:

Barbara | You can do it, have a drive around the countryside look for meadows, un-cut feilds of grass near old buildings, barns etc you might be surprised, give it a go but most importantly be patient |

| | | Re: My first photo's of a wild Barn Owl Hi Steve - Well done with those captures, particularly as they are wild birds, which is always particularly satisfying. Though we have some barn owls locally I haven't yet made any real effort to capture them hunting in the nearby fields - the Scottish midge provides quite a deterrent!! So I must get my midge nets out and have a try. Nice photies. Bill. |
