Feeding Baby Pigeon

Hi,

Can anyone advise on what to feed a baby woodpigeon? It was found out in the street by my son who has asked me to keep it safe in the house until its old enough to fly as the local cats were going after it. He tried 3 times putting it back in its nest but it keeps falling back out. I dont have a clue how old it is but it still has some of its baby fluffy feathers. It cant fly yet but it tries flapping it wings.

if it is a tiny you really need hand rearing formula but from the sounds of it, it should be ok on solids.

I have found that Go Cat is brillliant as it is primarily cereal based and eliminates the need to give water seperately as this can lead to respiratory problems.

Soak some go cat in hot water until it goes like little sponges, not dripping wet. Then pop pieces into it's mouth, should be as easy as that really. They do need feeding for quite a bit longer than other birds but put some pigeon food in the cage with him and he may start pecking early if you are lucky.
