I heard on the radio today that an Icterine warbler was sited in Northamptonshire (  ) for the first time since May 1947. Apparently 15-20 were seen on the east coast but it is very unusual to see them so far inland. This was verified by BTO. |

That's amazing. Were they considered a native Bird then ? I must admit I had to google the name to find out what they were, I bow my head in shame

I saw one in Hertfordshire on June 8th at Wilstone, nr. Tring. Caused great excitement, a first for Herts I think. | | |
