| | Orphan bird - need advice pls help Hello,
I have an orphan baby bird. I don't know my birds but I think it may be a sparrow??? not sure at all. Unfortunately he has fallen out of the nest while trying to fly and we put him back once but we live on a busy road (nest in our roof) and today he fell out again. Luckily we found him once more. We would have left him but he would have got trodden on or run over. Put him in shed in puppy cage and have fed him dried meal worms moistened in water with bird suet. That seems to be going down a treat but I am returning to work on Tuesday and don't what to do. I am based in Gloucestershire. DOes anyone have any advice? He is fully feathred and can fly a little bit. We did get him flying up into a tree earlier but then he crashed landed and it started blowing a gail so we tucked him back up. Is there a centre I can call or do I just leavethe door open tomorrow and let him wonder off and find his own way? Seems so vulnerable. Also could someone tell me how often to feed him?
All advice welcome pls - thank you |

| | | Re: Orphan bird - need advice pls help Wld think he'd probably be better of with door open tomoz so that his mum can find him outside somewhere. Sounds like he's ready to fly and may need mum's encouragement, either that or something's wrong, in which case nature wld probably intervene. Sounds like you've done all you can
