hi , havent posted for a while but here i am again --all hospital finished with !!
rspb sandwell valley has quite a lot of chicks , goslings and cygnets around . our oystercatchers have nested and have one very cute chick! tufted ducks have about 18 young between then -one pair have at least 11 and another pair have 7. somr mallard young around and coots have done well except for the pair near the hide --she`s lost about 3 broods. she was sitting on the nest yesterday but who knows if she will raise any more . the pike in the lake have taken young too. moorhen have some fluffy black bundles too and the lapwings have some quite big chicks now . we have little ringed plovers too but dont think they will nest . one gull has been taking young and last week the male oystercatcher sent him packing --chased him over the trees! so things are quite active --loads of dragonflies around and damsels everywhere. sue

Very glad to hear your hospital treatment is finished, Sue. You must be keen to put the whole experience behind you and move on with your life.

Thanks for telling us what's going on at Sandwell. I've only ever seen Little Ringed Plovers once or twice, and not for a few years now.
