so lucky and a lovely photo. I haven't seen a barn owl for yonks. I know where some were, but it's in a hamlet and I'd feel a bit nervous in case I was mistaken for some sort of would be burgler! Spotted very occasionally at the reserve I vollunteer for, but not been lucky so far. It's such a good feeling when something so lovely is spotted.

They tend to just turn up round here, hang around for a few weeks then move on. I dont know of any breeding pairs close to where I live.

I love Owls...the area I saw this one is a wintering area for Short Eareds too, I might try my luck at drawing them close in the same way this coming winter..the pic on this thread,and a similar one i didnt upload, are the only Owl shots I`ve ever managed.
