Re: Barn Owl this morning...

Hi Mark,
so lucky and a lovely photo. I haven't seen a barn owl for yonks. I know where some were, but it's in a hamlet and I'd feel a bit nervous in case I was mistaken for some sort of would be burgler! Spotted very occasionally at the reserve I vollunteer for, but not been lucky so far. It's such a good feeling when something so lovely is spotted.

Re: Barn Owl this morning...

Thanks Tracey. I know what you mean, in this day and age its easy for people to mistake what youre doing as being up to no good.Frustrating at times...
They tend to just turn up round here, hang around for a few weeks then move on. I dont know of any breeding pairs close to where I live.

I remember one time stalking deer,as i was walking through some woods in full camo, face mask & all, i walked through a bush only to scare the living daylights out of some old lady i though she was going to die, lets say she wasn't very pleased

I think I put a golfer off his stroke when I fell out of some shrubbery when I was surveying for Badgers - the look on his face was brilliant!

Thanks Colin. I love Owls...the area I saw this one is a wintering area for Short Eareds too, I might try my luck at drawing them close in the same way this coming winter..the pic on this thread, and a similar one i didnt upload, are the only Owl shots I`ve ever managed.
