The number of golden eagles in Scotland is still falling, many terriitories on grouse moors are now unoccupied

It is shocking really and makes me very angry that troglodytes like these are still poisoning raptors. What we need is the severest of penalties, a real deterent.

... but what is the 'severest of penalties'? I'd be happy to chop off their gonads but I doubt that the law would tolerate this?

The thing is that we are dealing with vast areas of land (difficult to monitor) with people brought up in a tradition of killing all raptors that it's not an easy thing to identify and prove who is doing these things.

Quite - and a damning commentary on our society. We seem to learn nothing. Profits - not nature - are all that seem to matter to these people.

It just depresses the heck out of me. Am I being too strong in my opinion when I say that I think Man is the most dangerous creature on the planet? I know there's a lot of good people out there who care deeply (like the folks who subscribe to WAB ), but we do seem to be constantly swimming against the tide .

Nah your not being too strong..
Man is by far the most destructive parasite on the planet, it absolutely sickens me to my soul seeing these Magnificent raptors being persecuted for doing no more than trying survive
Bloody upper crust toff landowners & they're desire for blood sport, hunting grouse, pheasants etc on shooting estates sickens me

My son and i were extremely lucky to see a pair of Golden Eagles on a visit to north east Scotland a couple of years ago truly amazing and awe inspiring site.how anyone can destroy these amazing creatures is a true travesty.it is an experience we will never forget!When will we learn.Until the punishment fits the crime and people are brought to account it will continue
