| | | Is this a Jay? Spotted in the wood around Crathes Castle in Aberdeenshire over this weekend.
Just managed to get my camera on full zoom then enhance in Photoshop...

Yes as said your bird is a Jay - Garrulus glandarius.
A small and very colourful member of the crow family that is particulary fond of acorns. A bird that is often heard but not seen. The call a very rough grating squark, once heard unmistakable.
