Beautiful bird, I believe they breed in the Shetlands or Orkneys, or they used to.

They haven't bred for a few years. Fetlar used to be a regular site. A bird I've yet to see in the wild!

They seem to be fairly regular on North Uist in the Outer Hebrides. I've been lucky enough to see them twice there. Earlier this year there were a male and female in the same area and hopes were raised that they might stay to breed - I don't know what the outcome was.
