Beautiful bird, I believe they breed in the Shetlands or Orkneys, or they used to.

A bird I've yet to see in the wild! | They seem to be fairly regular on North Uist in the Outer Hebrides. I've been lucky enough to see them twice there. Earlier this year there were a male and female in the same area and hopes were raised that they might stay to breed - I don't know what the outcome was.
