In a weekend of awful weather a little sunshine still shone through, went up to the river wyre near scorton on saturday and as i was stood on the bank of what is usually quite a popular little spot, completely alone ,rain teeming down i spotted a grey wagtail so took a couple of pics but the light was pretty bad so i tried walking upstream to get a shot from another angle and arrived just as the blighter disappeared into the undergrowth

typical and was just about to give in to the rain and head back when this beauty appeared
my first dipper picture and only my second sighting

my sisters who had abandoned the walk before me thought i was going nuts as i walked to the car with a grin like a cheshire cat
wonderful weather
