| | | Spoonbill and Kingfisher Bit of a distant shot and i was not expecting it to stick around another day but when i left it looked like it was settling in for another night so might still be around tomorrow at martin mere
the kingfisher sort of sneaked up on me,thought it was a bullfinch till it turned it's head and there was a branch waving around in front of him or her (isn't there always?) got 4 shots only 1 with any clear shot, unusual pose i think |

| | | Re: Spoonbill and Kingfisher Before anyone else jumps in, I claim that name "Spoonbill and Kingfisher" as a working title for a whacky detective series, featuring a couple of birdwatchers whose observational skills make them ideal for catching rather bland murderers (more Rs in there than I expected) by dripping around with some binoculars, probably set near Minsmere. Spoonbill will be thoughtful and reflective, but sieve all the evidence really carefully, Kingfisher will dart to and fro, incisive, colourful and rather fey. I could go on. (what was that collective groan? any more of that and I will)
Oh how jolly.
But I do like the photos. |

I was there all day, but only went to spot it late on I thought the Kingfisher may have been at Mere Sands Wood - I was wearing my Kingfisher Mere Sands T-shirt whilst at Martin Mere I love it there. Best place I've seen Kingfishers at as well. Great photo, I'm yet to see them that close. |
