Hi, and does anyone know this bird?

Hi, I don't know how to use my phone to publish a picture, but I will try to find the bird again tomorow, and use a camera.
I can't find this bird in books or on the internet. It is approx the size of a small blackbird. It has a black lower body, and a white upper body (head and shoulders) with sprinkles of white on the black.
It feeds on the ground, pecking at the grass. It is in a town, but always near the trees and in one area. I don't think the beak is yellow, it seems whitish.
Anybody can put me out of my misery?

I'm not sure of the size now, doing research, and I don't think it was 10 inces.
