Peregrines still suffering at the hands of illegal trappers

Well the dodgy gamekeepers/pigeon fanciers and their other irrational BOP haters have been up to it AGAIN BBC News | Enlarged Image

When will these people realise there pigeons are pairing up with feral pigeons/getting killed by adverse weather/getting lost and not all killed by peregrines!

What a crying shame, I hope one of the quarries wasn't the one highlighted on Springwatch last week, or it could have given someone an idea to check other quarries out, it always amazes me why they give out the locations of these rare birds nests if they are in an area where they could be interferred with, Radio Lincolnshire have had a peregrine cam on Lincoln Cathedral where two chicks have been successfully raised, we can't see them now though as they've left the nesting area and are walking about around the ledges on top of the cathedral but at least that was inaccessable

It's terrible. I read a letter in a newspaper the other day by a bloke who basically said that Peregrines were not welcome anywhere near him and the fact that he knew of one that had taken a Great spotted woodpecker angered him as the GSW is such a beautiful bird. Well my first thought was that Zebra are beautiful animals so should we hate lions and other predators.
