On Sunday there was a lot of twittering in the garden. I found 3 juvenile house sparrows they were being fed by their parents. The first one I found was the noisiest and was fed exclusively by Dad. It was always on its own.
The other 2 were always together if one flew the other followed. They were fed exclusively by Mum
The one on the left had trouble staying awake and kept drifting into sleep.
After a while both fell asleep......it was hot where they were!
Shortly after this Mum moved them into a tree where they had to stay awake!
They all seemed to roost in the same bush for the night.
Then in the morning they were all out and about again. The same feeding pattern was used ie Mum fed 2 whilst Dad fed 1. Seems even birds can have favourites and divide jobs!
