| | Repositioning of bird feeders? On the back of a packet of bird seed it recommends moving the bird feeders periodically due to unhygienic deposits, I was wondering if anyone actually does this? |

| | | Re: Repositioning of bird feeders? Hi I know a lot of the books suggest this but I inagine its for people who have it over the grass,I myself have slabs surrounding my feeding station and I sweep up excess seed twice a day and wash it down with a mild dissinfectiong substance at the back of the slabs is the wildlife part of the garden and I occasionally sweep excess seed onto here as well and let it grow and this gives the birds extra feed during the later parts of the year from the seed heads

I don't clear up as often as I should.........you get some very pretty flowers from dropped seed. Nyger/niger produces very pretty blue flowers. |
