| | | Blue Tit Fledgling
I was doing my Bug class at school just before Half term and this little fellow landed at our feet... It had just left its nest along with 2 others.. But the amazing thing was its nest was in a bat box up on the side of the school hall. This meant it had to come from under the nest box instaed of out of the middle of it... After about 10 minutes it flew up into a near by bush with the others..
Then this week when i was working on our Bug Island.. I could hear more young chicks chirping away in the bat box..with the parents constantly flying in and out with food. How good is that.. Hope we manage to see these fledge to

Super pictures by the way.

| | | Re: Blue Tit Fledgling My dear hubby built two boxes this year and at least one had blue tits occupying it (we think the other had Great tits, but its hidden by the willow tree (he also made the hole a bit too large)), they fledged yesterday but, unfortunately, we missed the great event! We are hoping it will be re-occupied and perhaps we will see them leave the nest. |

We have Bluetits ready to fledge infact we watched it today one left the nest and landed on the gravel it tried to climb the walls and such a few times.
Problem is we have naughty cats next door one of which has had its eye on the box already.
I lifted the bird back into the bo as i was afraid to go out and leave it on the ground.
Earlier another/same one? left the box, it has taken refuge behind a tree, its parents know where it is and have been feedign it.
Am i better to leave it alone now? I will be on cat watch for most of whats left of the evening
Thnaks for any help with this, my 1st time having birds in a nesting box.
