Collared Dove eats Niger?

Hi folks,
A couple of days ago I found the niger feeder on the floor and the length of dowel snapped off the stand, I put it down to the grand kids of our next door neighbour , 'cause we get a football over every now and again , well I now know how it got broken off , look at this , a collared dove with a fondness for niger , it came in with a thump and scared the two goldfinches off , they sat on the top of the stand till the dove finished and then got back on their own feeder,

I have had a similar experience with wood pigeons. I bought nyger seed for goldfinches and I have only ever had one in the garden So I put some nyger seed in a dish on the ground and the wood pigeons ate the lot (as they do).

I've seen collared doves feeding under one of my niger feeders but not actually on it, but there's not so much gets spilled now as I've bought the attachable feeder trays so it's only a matter of time I suppose before they work it out
