| | | can anyone identify this bird Hi everyone and thanks for taking the time for reading this. Can anyone help identify this bird. It was found underneath my parents car and is about 3.5 inches in length. It doesn't make any attempts to fly and has not made any sounds. We've asked friends and family and our local vet but nobody knows what it is. Ideally we'd like to identify it so it can be placed in a better enviroment.
Thanks

Looks like someone's (albino?) Japanese Quail has escaped.

| | Re: can anyone identify this bird Thanks for the replies everyone. It does appear to be a quail, not sure if it's an albino as it doesn't have the pinkiness in the eyes that I would expect, but I'm no expert so could be wrong. There is an RSPB group about 8 miles away from where we live, hopefully they will be able to find the quail a more suitable enviroment to live.
A B-I-G thanks again for taking the time to reply to my original post. |

| | | Re: can anyone identify this bird I don’t think you will get much help from the RSPB as they are geared up to deal with wild Birds in the wild and do not have anywhere to look after injured or lost birds. This is defiantly not a wild bird or even native this country, this is someone’s escaped pet, the RSPCA or an animal shelter dealing with domestic animals and pets will be much more likely to have the facilities to look after it. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
