Red-Backed Shrike -- Greenwich, London..

Went yesterday afternoon to see this stunning male Red-Backed Shrike, in the waste ground on the left of Pear Tree Way, Greenwich, London..

Showed well off & on and at a distance through fencing but still a brilliant bird which was singing also..

would have thought thats an awesome spot anywhere in this country, let alone Greenwich.
My only experience of seeing a pair was many years ago but about 15 miles from there.
Great photo too Mick, any sign of the hen ?

Excellent photo Mick.

I was tempted to go and see it too .... but this morning has dawned wet and windy.

I still remember seeing what is claimed to be the last breeding pair in Breckland several years ago and since then I have only seen a single autumn juvenile.
