| | | Egret Evening Morning one and all. Thought I was the only one here this morning! Got something nice to look forward to this evening though. Going on an evening walk on our local reserve to see the egrets. Saw them about 4 weeks ago when they were nesting, now we can see the young ones. Think it may be a bit cooler then too.

Your plans sound like good ones! Will you be taking a camera?
I have no plans so far .. although as my husband has already informed me that he's tidying a cupboard it looks as though I'll be sitting hand sewing gloves in the garden with Miss Grace our house rabbit and watching the housemartins, swifts and swallows while listening to some Glenn Miller I think!

Hi Eeyore, is that Chapel-en-le-Frith Derbyshire? If so where abouts are the otters? I don't live all that far away from there, I would love to see an otter, please let me know how you get on I really would like to know. Happy otter spotting Eeyore!

| | Re: Egret Evening Sounds like good fun all round except for poor Kev -don't fancy the way you catch your 'rays' if you know what I mean Kev.
Just been out and bought yet another shed load of bird food etc. £39!!!!!!! Arrrgh!
Still-money- who needs it? As they say, it's the root of all evil, so why hang on to it!!!
Have a nice day everyone. Plenty of suncream and plenty of iced water! Mmmmmm |

| | | Re: Egret Evening Im working this afternoon, but I think it will be an easy day as I cant see many people coming to the country park today. That means the woodlands will be empty, giving me a chance to try another round of Hawfinch spotting
Have a lovely day yourself Julie, hope you have a fantaastic time egret watching I love egrets, they really are fascinating birds, I was watching some down at the saltmarshes in Tollesbury Wick a few weeks back and got so carried away I didnt even notice how fast the water was rising around me....oops!

| | | Re: Egret Evening Oh blimey Nicole, you be careful. We got carried away rock-pooling in Cornwall once and got cut off by the tide. The only way out was up the cliffs. Never again. Oh no. Julie |

| | | Re: Egret Evening It was so scary how fast the water came in. I was walking along this old hedgerow (see attachment 1) and within a short space of time the whole area was underwater (see attachment 2). It was very eerie indeed seeing the dead trees poking up from the water. Still let that be a lesson to us...nature always wins in the end
