| | | Feeding Frenzy!!! Hi all,
is it just us or does anyone else go through 2-3kg of sultanas a day feeding the Starlings? check out this little lot!!!
That's just for breakfast!!!!!!!! We now have plenty of juvenle Starlings but not as many adults, so I suspect they are along with their second brood now. Looks like we'd better stock up ready for the next lot. Tesco must love us!!

Each day I put out 12 fat balls (insect ones),3 large feeders of sunflower hearts, fat pellets,2 wildbird(without peanuts) mix, robin mix and fill up two bird baths. The birds empty that lot no problem. I could fill them again but I'll have to give up eating myself I think!!! ww |

WW it sounds to me that you and I have the same problem, a genuine love of all the wildlife that dares to enter our patch, no matter whether feeding it ends up us being eaten out of house and home literally!!! I wouldn't have it any other way, although perhaps some of the neighbours would but we won't mention the droppings on clean washing!! Has anyone else experienced problems with excessive droppings? (bird droppings just to clarify) and some neighbours being absolutely mortified at the sight of their clean washing, shall we say a little peppered by it?

| | | Re: Feeding Frenzy!!! Wow! What a little rabble! Our feeding frenzies have calmed down somewhat which is a shame .. we did have a little group of dunnocks this afternoon though. I couldn't understand why they were there when our cat was alledgedly in the garden. I checked and she was wedged, cowering behind the creeper on the house

| | | Re: Feeding Frenzy!!! Starlings are great fun though.
Where we used to live there were garages there and on the roofs people used to throw seed and bread for the birds .. oh and bacon rinds. It was like a huge bird table! From upstairs you had a really good view and there used to be gaggles of starlings, looking like little mods in their tonic feathers and a group of crows with white patches, who we thought of as the rockers!
