Bird ID Please

I wonder if someone could help with identifying this bird please. It was taken on the North Lincolnshire coast and as usual, if its not something obvious, I am clueless as to what it is!

Thanks for all your kind comments. I'm relatively new to this and to be honest, I'd never even heard of a Linnet! I went to Donna Nook to try my new lens out at photographing the bomber planes but there was a bit of a sea fret which put an end to that idea. Luckilly it didn't put these birds off from frollicking around nearby!

I thought its beak looked a bit Finch-like but other than that I didn't have a clue.

It was hanging around with this bird, which I suppose must be a female Linnet...

Its a really good shot, I have been trying to get that close to a linnet all spring!

Thanks and I hope you have better luck in the future.

I was sat in a clear patch amongst some Gorse bushes and these two birds kept landing quite nearby and posing for a while. As long as I kept my movements to a slow minimum they didn't seem bothered by me.
