Re: strange brid

if you follow the instructions and upload the pics in the archive section
then you just copy and paste the info under the photo into your thread.
Tis straight forward honest!
You'd be surprised at how well people on here manage to ID things from poor photos.

Re: strange brid

You can click on 'gallery' next to the 'forum' tab, then click on upload near the right hand side. YOu'll then have a choice of gallery or archive, choose the archive option looking forward to your pic.

Re: strange brid

If I can do it anyone can, I was a while getting the hang of it but once it clicks it's so simple, keep trying and you'll soon work it out.

If it won't let you upload is your pic too big? that is another problem I had when I first started, you can easily resize them in 'my pictures' on your computer

Re: strange brid

This site does seem a bit intimidating at first but if you perservere with it everything will eventually make sense. If you are unable to upload an image your photo is probably too big or the wrong format or you haven't entered the details correctly. If you look through other people's questions on the WAB Web Site Forum/Technical Issues it might help.

But, to sum up the upload method. Go to Gallery/Upload and carefully read the instructions under the blue heading 'Click Here to read the Gallery Guidelines'. What you need to know is probably somewhere in that section.

Then return to the Archive Upload section and click Upload. Select a suitable category, ie Unidentified Birds. Click Choose and find the image you want to upload. Add a title so you can find your image when it is in the Archive Gallery. Add the same title to Keywords and click Upload. It should now work OK.

To find your image from the Gallery. Go to Gallery/Image Archive/Unidentified Birds (or whichever section you choose). Move the images left or right until you find yours. Right click the identification line under the image. Click Select All then Copy. Go back to your question and past the photo as required. If you aren't certain if you have done things correctly click Preview first.

As I said, it is a bit long winded but I am told it has to be done this way due to technical issues. Assuming you will want to add other images to the Forum or Gallery another time, it is worth taking a bit of trouble to try to understand how this works. Once you get the hang of things it isn't too bad.
