| | | Pheasant nest When walking my dog yesterday along a track with a grass verge, my dog was wandering along the edge of the road and distrurbed a pheasant. We both got a fright and went on. Dog wouldnt come with me though. He hung back looking at something in the grass. After coming across a dead crow 5 minutes before i went to see what he had found and it was a nest of pheasant eggs!
My dog hadnt gone near them and they wernt disturbed, but we had obviously scared the mother off. Will she go back to them? It is in such a bad place for a nest. Its on the grass verge of a 'road' used by walkers and people riding bikes from off the canal. |

| | | Re: Pheasant nest I would think she will go back and is perhaps used to being disturbed if the track is used regularly their instincts are very strong, although in some wildlife areas people are asked to keep their dogs on a lead at this time of the year so as not to disturb things if at all possible |
