| | | Swans a swimming and a preening I took these pics this morning before 7am out walking the dog before it got too hot, there was in excess of twenty swans strung out along the opposite bank of the Witham all preening themselves, the 'juvenile' one, one of last years cygnets I presume as don't know how long they take to mature, was going with the flow of the water, and every so often was gently being 'drifted' by the male of whichever group he got too close to so I wonder if it was also a male and the others were being a bit protective of their laydees.
this is the juvenile as you can see it's still showing traces of brown
