| | | Look what fell down the chimney! Hi everyone.
I wondered if someone could identify this young bird. I think it is a Blackbird but then again it could be a Starling?
It fell down my chimney whilst I was out shopping with the wife earlier today. There was a distinctive, loud chirping coming from behind the gas fire in the dining room when we returned.
I had to remove the gas fire to get to the bird which I have to say looked very strong and healthy despite its ordeal.
When I released it in the back garden it perched/hid on this fence, under the hedge, where it sat and (presumably) called for its mum with the same, loud and distinctive chirp. It was still calling when we went out again but had gone when we returned. Hopefully it didn't fall victim to one of the local cats. http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/ar...=58618&cat=503 |

| | | Re: Look what fell down the chimney! Definitely a young blackbird. That's unusual as its usually jackdaws that fall down chimneys.
