| | | Looking for a goldcrest I really enjoyed looking at the goldcrest video especially as I have only seen glimpses of a couple in the past.
Some friends told me that a pair were building a nest high up in an old Christmas tree in their garden by the back door. Come and have a look, they said.
Off I trundled and watched the birds zooming to and fro and eventually managed to get this snap taken in pretty dark conditions
I spent two hours there today and had two non-photographable sightings. However, all was not lost when I was able to take the following snaps of the only one of its kind in the world still flying - some form of Vulture is it?

Glad you managed to see a Goldcrest they are beautiful little things but they are so quick darting about it is hard for people to get a good look. Your photo is better than my attempts as you probably saw under the video thread, hence i took the video and cheated
I have never seen the rare 'vulture' well done on capturing that bet it scared the Goldcrest

| | | Re: Looking for a goldcrest well done on getting a gold creat. I have a photo but the biord is about 10 pixels across and it is a top done view. The "I promise you its a goldcrest" type shot...
As for the vulcan, thats cool. I knew there were restoring one to a flyable condition but havent heard anything in a while. |

| | | Re: Looking for a goldcrest Great picture of the Goldcrest and also the Vulcan, it came down to land not too far away from us and we went over to see it at RAF Coningsby after tea yesterday where it's staying for a few days for a compass check, it's been pictured with the B.B.M.F. Lancaster and a Typhoon - Eurofighter this morning, which was a brilliant photo opportunity which I missed as the local radio had the times wrong It had to abandon it's testing a couple of weeks ago as a red light came on and it's been at Cottismore since then where it had to land and it flew from there to here yesterday. |
