Bramblings behaviour

We get some bramblings in our garden, but everyday one of them (male) like to shout it's head off. It sounds as if he's the commander of the army or something training his bunch.... does anyone know what these birds are up to - he's very sweet, but very loud and sometimes annoying! Does a

They should be heading north soon as they are mainly a winter visitor, though a handful sometimes breed in Scotland.

will be sad to see them go, never had them before in our garden until this winter - that noisy one is definitely still around, it was chirping it's head off this afternoon

We had a couple of pairs in the garden for the first time for a while, but not seen them for a couple of weeks so they must have gone to their nesting grounds
