| | | Need Advice Quick Ok basically.... yesterday was coming home and saw a pigeon being attacked by a few cats. I shooed them away and took the pigeon home. He has a little scratch across the face, nothing deep, and what seemed to be a broken wing... I don't know
So we kept him in a small cage overnight, and mum put him in the garden this morning. I've come home from school and he's still there. He's walking around the garden and my mum say's he's flown a bit around.
He doesn't seem to have any serious cuts... and I don't know about this wing... But.. What do I do? :s |

I think you have done all you can. Pigeons are very resilient. I would feed him some corn and leave him alone.

| | | Re: Need Advice Quick If a bird has been injured by a cat then it will certainly need an antibiotic injection as cats mouths are full of bacteria & the bird may well get septicaemia. We treat any catted bird with antibiotics.
The wing also needs looking at asap as, if it is broken it will need treating straight away (if it is viable at all). Birds bones heal extremely quickly so if it is left it may well heal in the wrong position.
You need to find your nearest wildlife rescue.
If you let me know your location I will see if I can put you in touch with anyone.

| | | Re: Need Advice Quick As I said, you need your local wildlife rescue, not the vets.
If you let me know where you are I will try to find your nearest centre in the morning.
