| | | Re: Favourite singing bird The song thrush is certainly very nice but on a day to day basis I like to listen to a robin. There's alway some about and they will give a cheerful performance while I watch. |

| | | Re: Favourite singing bird Mine has to be the Blackbird.
Every morning he waits for me to feed him and every evening he sits in the mapletree singing his little heart out. Love it!
Is it just me that hears "Sieg Heil, sieg heil, sieg heil" whenever I hear a song thrush singing???? |

| | | Re: Favourite singing bird After hearing a marvellous rendition from a Nightingale yesterday, it has to be that bird. Simply breathtaking. Six of us were trying to find the bird, but we all just stood still and listened. Absolutely glorious! |

| | | Re: Favourite singing bird I read each entry and thought, 'Oh yes. Mine too.' I have only heard a nightingale a few times, singing in my garden late at night, but the volume and clarity was breathtaking. I love the robin that sits on the branch outside my bedroom window and seems to sing all the time. I love the dawn chorus. I adore the haunting sound of the seagulls as they fly over my house back to the coast every night, the cheerful pipping and popping of the long tailed tits as they chase each other from feeder to feeder. I enjoy the maniacal laughter of the green woodpeckers in the woods. The sound that makes me stop in my tracks every time is the eerie cry of a red kite high in the mountains in Wales.

| | | Re: Favourite singing bird Of those that I can hear, I'd go for the Blackbird.
I say "can hear" because it was brought home to me what I may be missing when out with Roger & Graham a few weeks ago. They could plainly hear a Chiffchaff, but I could n't
I wonder what other delightful bird songs I'm missing ? |
